october '07 mix looking back on past creations, certain dj mixes can be somewhat of a journal with chapters or an audio timecapsule, timelines intertwined. i made this all vinyl mix during the week of the cali fires of 2007. I remember peering out a 2nd floor window out towards the engulfing smoke during this all vinyl hip hop mix, dreading that I would then see flames climb up over the hills & subsequently getting the evacuation notice. The tone of the mix very apt for such a moment in time. Dedicated to human, wildlife, nature displaced not only during the fires but worldwide every single day in varying situations. Especially going out to the kids w/ out masks playing outside breathin all in the toxic air.
